Listen Up: Better Out Loud Podcast

It has been one year since I woke up to my card from Abi: Dear Kylie.

In that year I’ve become less comfortable with being public in some ways, and in others I try to still honor my grief. I want to bring Abi into spaces whenever I want to, even if I feel like people have forgotten her spirit at full strength, moved forward, or don’t know how to respond.

I’m surrounded by support in a way I only hope the world is. Most people in my life honor the space for her, and carve it out, too. I have always been a creative; I have always loved creative outlets for expression. Writing is something I will always love, but I realized in this chapter of life I wanted to pass the microphone on, so to speak. In all the attention, as grateful as I am, there are some powerful stories out there that I want to put a spotlight on. Because as wonderful (and loving and goofy and sometimes annoying and oftentimes passionate and always feisty, etc.) Abi was, she is not alone in the world of phenomenal humans who love BIG.

For you, Soulmatch.

Inspired by the way she lived, I wanted to share even more stories that remind me of the way she loved.

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my new podcast, titled Better Out Loud. Purposefully released on November 7, the anniversary of Kylie Day, Better Out Loud, is the podcast that gives voice to stories of the world’s most intentional relationships (or at least my whole world).

Through Better Out Loud, I have the privilege of sharing with all of you real stories about real people who foster intentional relationships with their humans. My hope is simple: that you get tangible examples of how to thoughtfully nourish and strengthen the relationships in your own life!

As many of you know, in her final month of life before we lost her to cancer, Abi created a day just for me called ‘Kylie Day’ to help celebrate some of the moments we wouldn’t end up getting together. I get into that story in depth right away in episode one, but I wanted to share that her friendship has shaped so much of my life. In an effort to still honor our mission to become business partners one day, this is as close as I could get.

P.S. You can send mail my way at PO Box 222182, Chantilly, VA 20153.

Get ready to live better every single day.
