Monthly Christmas and Being Well Fed

Happy New Year! You’re probably not still hearing that since it’s March, but for Better Out Loud, it’s a happy new year indeed.

I am grateful for the winter break from podcasting and the ability to spend time with my own humans. December was hard, January was hard, and it turns out, February was hard, too. Maybe I’m just still in that process of healing, but that time of year is always tough for me to move through. However, I’ve learned to lean into what I need much better in the last year, so I took a break.

It does feel good to be back, though.

Last week I got to meet up with an old friend and (spoiler alert) Abi’s dad, Chris.

We found a spacious, two story coffee shop in Fredericksburg, Virginia. We highly recommend the Curitaba Art Cafe and a kind soul named Jo who helped us out that morning. It ended up being a very popular place, but we were fortunate to have a cool hiding spot on the second story to record away.

In the newest episode, “Monthly Christmas and Being Well Fed“, Chris shares a little bit on fatherhood, the tradition of monthly Christmas dinners from 2018, and some previews into his latest project. We also talk about showing up fully and really seeing our people.

It was a joy to reflect on some old memories and talk about exciting opportunities to come. It was also just hard for me to get back behind the mic after a challenging few months, so I really appreciated having a very comforting guest to talk with and get me back in gear. Plus, he brought me a special gift which you can hear about during the episode. Talk about action packed!

Thanks for staying connected and get ready for an exciting 2020 with Better Out Loud.
