You read that right! Maybe you’re tired of people going live or maybe this is just what you’d been hoping for this whole time. I’m hoping it’s the latter.
I have been struggling to figure out how to adjust in my personal life in so many ways during the COVID-19 outbreak. I have been feeling disconnected from the humans in my world and creating new ways to stay in touch. I have been worried about the health and safety of my family, my friends, and my community. I have been overwhelmed and scared, period.
And.
I have been working to stay centered in a different way, because this is a different normal I am working on creating. My center has always been through connection both with myself and with my community. My center has also been in creativity and sharing that creativity whenever possible. I had a rocky start to the year; I was away from the microphone and blog for almost three months and I had some distance to be with myself more fully. Then I got sick (really sick) and struggled to care for myself let alone my people. Finally, just as I was getting better physically, I realized we were sheltering in place.
It’s been quite a year.
(It’s April)
What I can tell you is this: I found some energy. This energy is in alignment with my center. This weekend, I am going to join one of my best friends in the world to host a special virtual episode of Better Out Loud Podcast! That’s right, the “crittas” are going live! Talking with Renna is always affirming, healing, and grounding. I thought, “what better gift to share with my community than the chance for everyone to connect with Renna?”

Renna and I were friends and roommates at James Madison University. We were snow buddies (pictured on the left moments before a snowexcursion), Grey’s Anatomy lovers, and life chat partners. She would often bake and I would get strange haircuts and cry about them.
Now, we are best friends, indefinitely.
Renna is also my creative soul sister. She is the founder and artist behind Paint It Forward, a creative company specializing in hand lettering, watercolors, and custom design with a mission to spread kindness and love through words and art. You should check out her art immediately. It’s almost as incredible as she is. And that is really saying something.
This Sunday, April 26 at 11am EDT, the two of us will be virtually live talking all about relationships and how to be intentional as best as possible because I always insist that we do. We will also add our own creative spins to make it even more meaningful, including Renna sharing LIVE watercolor art lettering at the end of the episode. The theme – yep, there’s a theme – is “Bring Your Own Coffee” so make sure you choose your favorite mug, hot beverage (tea is also approved), and find your favorite spot to snuggle up and listen. I was told to add a note about sweatpants being welcome. OF COURSE THEY ARE!
I do not imagine that listening to two people talking about loving with purpose will change anything in the outside world too dramatically, but I do hope it can provide an ounce of solace in navigating the point on connection. We hope you will join us, favorite mug in hand! RSVP to get more information, or tune in next week on Better Out Loud to find out what you missed.
(I’d rather you found out for yourself…)
